Seems there is still some of it going around after all.
Despite the lack of presence of my batch, the BBQ RWinds held today proved to be highly enjoyable for me, despite the running around and stuff. While it is sad we couldn't have our chalet, I think most of us had quite a good time today.
Basic rundown of events, met up with the comm at Parkway Parade to buy supplies, jammed the entire comm into a Liana with hilarious results, had lunch, did a bit of prep for the BBQ, introduced the J1s to Wii Music, escorted them to ECP to hunt for people/tow novice rollerbladers around, clear out an ants nest over the phone, run up and down and of course, charades.
I love RWinds, really. Not just for the opportunity it gives me to revisit my music, but because of its friendly openness and warmth. Although musically we have a long way to go (and one of my foremost wishes for RWinds is to go that distance), in terms of bonds and relationships we're quite strong. Of course you can see some notable cliques, especially batches, and this is not a bad thing, but more important is that even those who are without such a group can feel welcome (such as myself). Steps are taken (e.g. the traditional charades or even the simple action of chatting with new members) to make sure no one is really left out of stuff. For this I have to thank the founding fathers of RWinds, as it can be seen that most of such initiatives are their doing.
I will forever be grateful that I decided to commit myself to RWinds last year, an action which in itself has made RWinds what it is for me. I have to be grateful to RWinds as well, for allowing me a chance to get to know and grow close to my seniors, batchmates and to a somewhat larger extent, my juniors (somehow I always feel closer to my juniors than seniors, and my batchmates aside from a few of them are largely MIA). Of course I have to thank all my friends who stick to band and RWinds, especially Shuotian and Jeremy, two of my friends who have really stuck with me all the way since RI. Thanks, to everyone.
